Merry Christmas!

What? It is January 26, 2018, the Republic Day and not December 25, 2017! Why am I writing about it now?

Moving the calendar back by a month and a day, let's think about the festive season and the messages floating over the internet.

Yes Sir!

Sir, one of the most common words of corporate India. As per Wikipedia, it is used as a formal prefix for males who have been given certain honors or titles, such as Knights.

India inherited it from the British rule. Though initially it was used mostly for showing respect to senior bureaucrats, government officials, teachers, professors et al. Slowly, it spread to the corporate world also.

The Ahmedabad Pattern

I read this phrase few months back in a local newspaper. Some ministers claimed to develop Jaipur on the patterns of Ahmedabad. Development of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), Metro and other improvements to public transport were included.

Use dipper at night!

While driving through the highway it is a common message written on passing by trucks.  One of my friends gave me a nice business plan to start selling condoms by the name Dipper. According to him all those trucks will help market the product free of cost. It could also get very popular amongst the truck drivers and their associates as they are marketing for the product.

Another IOC depot catches fire. This time at Surat. Last time it was Jaipur in October 2009. At Surat sources claim that 90-100 lakh liters of diesel and petrol are burnt away. At Jaipur 80 lakh liters of diesel and petrol (worth INR 300 crores) was put to flames.

Our high moral values

This New Year was different than the previous ones. The nation was fighting for a cause, safety and respect of our women. So that there be no other Damini and if so the heinous culprits could be punished to the maximum extent possible.

There was a time in our history when females were addressed as Devi which means Goddess. A lot of respect was being given to them. Time has changed a lot since then. Devi has been replaced by Sheela, Munni and Chikni Chameli, the so called item girls. People love to see hot songs and movies. A pretty girl is now termed as item. What a shame!

The strange donation

Most of us are indulged in charitable activities. Some way or the other, we do charity. It does not depend on how much one donates. What matters is that the donation is used in the most appropriate manner possible. Few days back (in fact last month), we also did a donation, a strange donation.
